Life Skills
Individualized support to help clients build the skills, relationships, and confidence they need to thrive in their community.
What is Life Skills?
Building Independence, One Step at a Time
Life Skills is a DDA-funded service that provides individualized, one-on-one support to help individuals with developmental disabilities develop the practical and social skills they need to live more independently and participate fully in their communities.
Our Life Skills specialists work directly with clients to identify personal goals and create a structured, supportive plan to achieve them — at a pace that works for each individual.
Services are delivered in the community, in the home, or in other natural settings where skills can be practiced in real-life contexts.
Delivered in the community, at home, or wherever skills can be practiced in real-life contexts.
Funded through Washington State DDA — at no direct cost to eligible individuals and families.

What to Expect
Initial Assessment
We begin with a thorough assessment of the individual's strengths, challenges, and personal goals — in collaboration with the client, their family, and their DDA support team.
Individualized Plan
Based on the assessment, we develop a personalized Life Skills plan with clear, measurable goals and evidence-informed strategies tailored to the individual.
Ongoing Support
Our specialist meets regularly with the client — in the community or at home — to practice skills, track progress, and adjust the plan as goals evolve.
Progress & Collaboration
We maintain open communication with the client's DDA case manager, family, and support team to ensure coordinated, consistent care.
