Who we serve

Services for Those Who Need Them Most

New Horizons Social Services works with individuals with developmental disabilities and the people who support them — through Washington State's Developmental Disabilities Administration.

Who Is Eligible?

Our services are available to individuals who have been determined eligible by the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), a division of the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS).

DDA eligibility is based on a diagnosis of a developmental disability — such as intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or another condition that originated before age 18 and results in substantial functional limitations.

If you or someone you care for is already connected with DDA, you may be eligible to receive our services through your existing DDA support plan.

Developmental Disabilities Recognized by DDA

  • Intellectual disability
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Epilepsy
  • Other conditions originating before age 18 that result in substantial functional limitations

Eligibility is determined by Washington State DDA. Contact your DDA case manager or DSHS for more information.

About DDA & DSHS

Understanding Washington State DDA

The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is a division of Washington State's Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). DDA funds and coordinates services for eligible individuals with developmental disabilities across the state.

New Horizons Social Services is a contracted provider through DDA, which means our services are funded through your DDA support plan — at no direct cost to you or your family.

If you are not yet connected with DDA, we encourage you to reach out to DSHS to learn about the eligibility process. Once enrolled, your DDA case manager or support coordinator can refer you to our services.
